Special Applications

These configurations use special ion exchange resins and media, and are designed to address specific contaminant concerns such as sulfur, nitrates, alkalinity, chlorine and pH.

Dealkalization
Dealkalization

Kinetico’s DA Series specify the operation of Kinetico products, modified to operate as dealkalizer systems. These systems reduce alkalinity through the chlorine exchange of bicarbonate ions.
Nitrate Reduction
Nitrate Reduction

Kinetico’s NR Series specify the operation of Kinetico products, modified to operate as Nitrate Reduction systems.  These systems reduce Nitrate through the use of selective ion exchange media.
Up-Flow Neutralizers
Up-Flow Neutralizers

Up flow neutralizer systems are available for the adjustment of low pH streams. These units use calcite media to add carbonate to the water, which acts as a buffer to low pH sources.
 Dechlorination
Dechlorination

Up flow dechlorination systems are available for the removal of free chlorine from feed supplies. These units use carbon media to remove organics and free chlorine from feed water.
Automatic Neutralizers
Automatic Neutralizers
The neutralizer system is designed to integrate with an automatic deionization system allowing for the pH adjustment of spent chemicals generated during regeneration of deionization systems. The neutralizer operates in a batch mode, adjusting the batch to within a preset range, as defined by the user.
Membrane Clean In Place Systems

Membrane Clean in Place Systems
During the operation of the RO system the membranes are subject to the dissolved materials present in the feed water. These materials periodically require cleaning from the RO system.  The CIP System is designed to integrate with Kinetico’s TI RO system, allowing the unit to go through periodic cleaning cycles.  The cleaning process uses a variety of chemicals depending on the type of fouling present.
